Bookmakers reveal favourite to win Ballon d’Or

The big spectacle of France Football will take place on September 22. The gala evening will see the annual awards presented, including the most important and glamorous individual award in football, the Ballon d’Or. The candidates for the 69th France Football award will be revealed in August, but bookmakers have already announced the odds and chances of winning.

According to bookmakers, Ousmane Dembele is by far the favourite. The PSG winger was one of the best players on the way to the treble. He scored 33 goals and had 15 assists for Paris in all competitions, and his impressive season could ideally be rounded off in June if France wins the Nations League.

Bookmakers give the Frenchman around 70% chances, while the only worthy opponent is Lamine Jamal. He added 18 goals and 25 assists in Barcelona’s double, while none of the other candidates have more than a 7% chance of winning.

Odds of winning the Ballon d’Or
Osmane Dembele 1.4
Lamine Jamal 3.75
Mohamed Salah 13

Who Deserves to Win?

If we consider both team success and individual brilliance, Ousmane Dembele appears to be the most complete candidate. He’s had a season filled with trophies, numbers, and consistent top-level performances. If France secures the Nations League title, it would likely seal his place as the rightful winner of the Ballon d’Or.

However, if there’s a twist in the narrative—such as an extraordinary international tournament from Lamine Jamal—we could witness an upset. Still, at this stage, Dembele seems poised to claim the golden ball.
